What is the best way to answer line reference questions when I struggle with long sentences and tough vocabulary?

Prof T, Hey it seems like I keep getting MYSTERY QUESTIONS incorrect! What am I doing wrong?

I am having trouble picking which word to finger scan for in the passage. What can I do?
